計兩種﹐一種分佈於非洲﹐另一種生長在菲律賓。菲律賓所產者為Toog(C.quadrialatum)被稱為菲律賓紫檀﹐但與真正紫檀並不相關﹐耶希亞木分佈於熱帶非洲地區﹐如幾內亞、薩伊、安哥拉、奈及利亞。 |
One species in Africa and one in Philippines known.The
latter called Toog(C.quadrialatum)and nowadays traded by the name of
Philippine rosewood,but unrelated to Rosewood.Esia in tropical
Africa and yielded from Guinea to Zaire and Angola,and popular
species in Nigeria. | |

立木樹高可達36m﹐平均直徑1m。 <樹皮> 褐色帶綠﹐表皮木栓層隆起﹐軸向龜裂。 <色調>
邊、心材區別明顯﹐邊材淡黃色﹐心材新鮮材時為略帶紅色﹐久置則轉呈赤褐色。 <比重> 重硬木﹐氣乾比重值0.80。
<木理> 木理通直或交錯﹐木肌略粗。 |
PROPERTIES:Up to 36 m in height and about 1 m in diameter.
bark:Brown with green,coarse and having around 3 inch cork swells
and axial fissures. wood:Heartwood distinct.Sapwood yellow white and
heartwood reddish when fresh becoming red brown later.
weight:Heavy/hard.A.D.0.80. grain:Straight or interlocked.
