灰白或黑褐色﹐表面龜裂呈鱗片狀﹐樹脂常外滲。 <色調> 邊、心材常不明顯﹐心材淡桃褐或赤褐色﹐邊材淡黃褐色。
<比重> 氣乾比重值A.D.0.46~0.55。 <木理> 交錯木理﹐木肌較一般桃花心木粗糙。 |
PROPERTIES:K.ivorensis reaching 30 m or more in height and
1~2 m in diameter. bark:Grey withe or brwon black,fissured and
scaly.Gum oozing out. wood:Heartwood sometimes not
distinct.Heartwood pale pink brown or red brwon and sapwood pale
yellow brown. weight:A.D.0.46~0.55(K.ivorensis) grain:Interlocked.
texture:Coarser than genuine Mahogany(Sweieteia spp.).

原木材端不易開採﹐人工乾燥容易﹐但有翹曲傾向﹐木材收縮性不大﹐乾燥後尺寸相當穩定﹐耐朽性佳﹐但對海蟲不具抗力。平切單板-壁材、傢俱。板材-木門、窗戶、傢俱、樂器。
